6 Types of Room Lighting

Recessed lights are light fixtures which are installed into hollow openings in the ceiling. The light fixture is typically cylindrical.

Hanging Lighting

As the name suggests, hanging lights are those which are hung from the ceiling. They are usually used in order to create a central feature in the room or lobby.

Cove Lighting

Cove lighting is the type of lighting that is built into ledges or recesses in ceilings. They are often used in false ceilings we see nowadays, and are typically done in conjunction with recessed lighting.

Spot Lighting

Spot lights are used to highlight specific attractions on the walls like paintings or murals, given their strong focus on a single point.

Track Lighting

Track lights are those which are mounted on a track which has electrical conductivity and allows the lights to be moved along it anywhere

Wall Sconces

Wall sconces are lights which are attached to the walls and use only the walls for support. Typically an electrical box is fixed into the walls and then the fixture is attached to it.
